corona_virusUnfortunately, due to concerns about the possible transmission of corona virus RPCV-NJ is CANCELING participation in any events/activities for the remainder of March & April (including our Annual Meeting planned for 3/28/20). While the Duke Farms service project is actually in May, registration is required by April 4th so it is also being canceled.

However, RPCV-NJ will continue to plan and prepare for future events (advocacy, service, outreach, social etc.) in addition to reviewing the Peace Corps Partnership Program for projects led by
Peace Corps Volunteers from New Jersey
to support financially.

Reach Out NJ!

The annual Reach Out NJ! campaign is under way.  Help us raise funds for Peace Corps Partnership projects for volunteers from New Jersey, as well as advocacy in Washington DC and outreach projects around New Jersey.

Read this article in the Rumson-Fair Haven Patch about Brian Boyle, a New Jersey RPCV (1963 – Burkina Faso) who met with Olivia Brown and Leah Small, two New Jersey PCVs (2013 – Burkina Faso), to exchange stories about service in the Peace Corps in West Africa.

On June 1, 2013, the members of the RPCV-NJ board met and, fueled by caffeine and baked goods,  approved the group’s mission statement, as well as committee descriptions!  Read the approved documents on the About Us page.

Dear New Jersey RPCVs:

As the newly elected President of the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of New Jersey (RPCV-NJ), I wanted to introduce myself and the 2013/2014 Board. (Our contact information is at the end of this note.)

I also wanted to tell you about the Annual Meeting which we held on March 9, with a high turnout of RPCVs ranging from those who just completed their service to “veterans” who served in the early 1960’s.  The room was filled with energy, enthusiasm and ideas as we discussed our ambitious plans for 2013.
