THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for purchasing a shirt from the Atlanta Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (AARPCV) to support Peace Corps Partnership grants. AARPCV has run several tee campaigns this year featuring various regions of the world, which combined, have raised over $7,300 to support projects of Peace Corps Volunteers in the field.
In February, AARPCV donated the final $3,100 towards a maternity house construction project led by a Peace Corps Volunteer in Togo. The project, which is now finished, provides a safe place to stay adjacent to the health clinic for women who are in their last month of pregnancy. Staying in this shelter gives the women immediate access to a midwife, as well as alleviates the need to travel over challenging terrain during labor. We are proud to announce that the first baby was born there in July!
We funded seven projects in the second and third quarters, including this one from a Missouri Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Ethiopia. Other projects include a physical education facility in Cambodia, school water pumps in Cameroon and Tanzania, a bridge in Tanzania, an environmental cleanup in Burkina Faso, and a grain repository in Senegal. So far, AARPCV has donated a total of $14,036.60 Peace Corps Partnership grants this year, and our goal is $20K by the end of December. To do so, we’re selling custom made Peace Corps pewter pendant necklaces, International Calendars and of course, more t-shirts!
Okay, okay. You asked for it, and we listened–the “Peace Corps Africa–Everywhere Else Is Irrelephant” tee is back! This time, it’s available in men and youth sizes in beautiful blue AND there’s a ladies version in cardinal red. The cost is $15, and it will be available until September 21st. https://www.booster.com/peacecorpsafrica2
If you’re not in the market for any of our items right now, you can still support the cause by sharing the link(s) on your Facebook page or forwarding this email. Remember, all funds raised go towards Peace Corps Partnership grants. Again, thank you so much! We could not have done all this without your love and support!
