RPCVs at Montclair State University

Montclair State University’s College of Education and Human Services recently presented “Peace Corps Day @ Montclair.” This event was held April 9, 2014 and included images and stories from  Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. The Montclair community was presented with the questions, “Have you ever wanted to expand your volunteer service beyond New Jersey? How far would you go?”

The day was organized by RPCV Dr. Douglas Larkin of MSU. The following RPCVs from NJ gave presentations following a welcome by Dr. Francine Peterman, Dean of the College of Education and Human Services and an introduction by Doug Larkin:

  • Christine Musa (Sierra Leone 1981-83)
  • Kate Yarhouse (Albania 2006-07)
  • Raven Moore (Cote D’Ivoire 1999-2002)
  • Barbara Kelly (Senegal 1971-73)
  • Adam Swart (Nepal 2001-04)

A beautiful display of photographs was set up by Nancie Gunkelman both outside and inside the meeting room.  Christie Musa brought some artifacts from Sierra Leone for display and Raven Moore brought a selection of varied
fabrics/clothing items from Cote d’Ivoire to share during her presentation.
